Iran
Threatens the West
In
recent weeks, prominent Iranian figures
have issued statements against the West,
both within the government and in the
newspapers close to the regime. These
statements include threats to U.S. and
European interests and targets throughout
the world. The following is a collection
of recent threats. The following is part
of a comprehensive report on Iran's nuclear
policy, to be published soon.
Recent
Threats:
In
a speech to the residents of the city
of Hamedan on July 5, 2004, Iranian Leader
Ali Khamenei said: "We, the Iranian
people, within the borders of our country,
will cut off any hand that harms our scientific,
natural, human, or technological interests.
We will cut off the hand that is sent
to invade and work against our people's
interests. We will do this with no hesitation….
If the enemy has the audacity to harm
and invade, our blows against it will
not be limited to the borders of our country…
If someone harms our people and invades
[our country], we will endanger his interests
anywhere in the world."
Iranian
Revolutionary Guards Political Bureau
head General Yadollah Javani wrote in
the conservative daily Kayhan, which is
close to Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei:"Threats
of this kind are nothing new, but Iran
must respond to these threats. To deal
with the invader, Iran will use all its
capabilities within and outside Iran.
It seems to me that in his [Hamedan] speech,
the leader was referring to the use of
all means of force, as Iran has in its
possession all means of force on the highest
level.

lewd riff on President Bush (news - web
sites)'s name at a fund-raiser last week,
the company said on Wednesday.
Florida-based Slim-Fast said it was "disappointed"
in Goldberg's remarks at last Thursday's
$7.5 million star-studded fund-raiser
at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Canada
: Michael Moore Broke Election Law
TORONTO
- An Ontario university student is urging
Elections Canada to charge American filmmaker
Michael Moore over comments he made during
the recent federal election campaign.
While
promoting his movie in Toronto days before
the election, Moore weighed in on the
issue of who should lead Canada. He urged
Canadians to reject the Conservatives
and its leader, Stephen Harper.
Moore
was in Canada to promote his latest film,
Fahrenheit 9/11, which questions U.S.
President George W. Bush's actions during
the Sept. 11 attacks.
Kasra
Nejatian, a member of the Ontario Campus
Conservatives and Queen's University student,
says he was angered by Moore's comments.
He
started an internet petition to have Moore
charge under the Canada Elections Act.
"Michael
Moore came to our country, stuck his nose
in our election, and broke the law,"
said Nejatian. "So I just want Elections
Canada to charge him for breaking country's
law."
Communist
Party Supports John Kerry
The
southern Democrats must be thrilled by
the news that the Communist Party of The
United States of America, CPUSA, is publicly
supporting the election of John Kerry.
The
CPUSA has made available on its Web site,
cpusa.org, an advertisement entitled Top
Ten Reasons To Defeat Bush. This advertisement
can be downloaded. The communist party
urges readers to place this ad in local
newspapers throughout the country to defeat
President Bush.
Remarkably,
the "Top Ten Reasons" of the
Communist party are identical to those
of the Democratic party; out-sourcing,
homosexual rights, abortion and the like.
At
first, I thought "this is only a
coincidence." The Democratic party
of the United States couldn't be in lock
step with the Marxists! So, I wrote to
a spokesman of the CPUSA in Georgia and
here is part of his letter:
"The
CPUSA supports the John Kerry campaign
with donations and volunteer effort. We
believe that defeating George Bush is
the single most important issue this November
..."
Next,
I discovered that one of Kerry's campaign
themes is " Let America be America
Again." This slogan was borrowed
from a Communist poet, Langston Hughes.
This is not common knowledge to the average
American.
Wednesday
: Lakers Send O'Neal to Miami
MIAMI
(AP) -- The telephone connection was lousy,
with static drowning out Shaquille O'Neal's
voice. Still, the message came through
clearly enough: He expects to win with
the Miami Heat.
The
Heat and Lakers finalized one of the most
landscape-altering trades in NBA history
Wednesday, O'Neal going to Miami in exchange
for Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, Brian Grant
and a first-round draft pick.
"I
wanted to go to another contender, and
Miami is definitely another contender,"
O'Neal said. "We're just going to
grow together."
Grow?
At 7-foot-1 and 340 pounds, O'Neal has
long been the most formidable force in
the game. Even in Los Angeles, a city
of celebrities, he was a towering presence
while leading the team to three NBA titles
during his eight seasons there.
"It's
certainly a disappointing day in a lot
of ways in Los Angeles. I can't deny that,"
general manager Mitch Kupchak said. "He's
had an impact in so many ways on the franchise
and the city of Los Angeles."
