Top tweets of 2014

This post was re-created from the site before I switched hosts (and lost what was on the prior site!). It may be slightly different than the original in text and/or layout.

2014 was a big year for me with photography, if for no other reason I took a lot more pictures than I have in the past decade using a DSLR. Month-long projects capturing spring and fall in D.C., as well as a lengthy storm chasing trip, did most of it. Local snow and storms much of the rest.

In general, my top tweets (based on number of automatic retweets) reflect my year in photography. Interestingly albeit predictably, none of my just-text tweets came even close to reaching the heights of a tweet with photo.

Some general takeaways:

-Become a storm chaser to get followers (those scenes!).
-Share phone pics as things are happening even if you’re a “fancy” photographer.
-Don’t expect that interest to translate too heavily, but stick with it.
